3D Engineering, Modelling & Design
Over the years SENET has implemented 3D modeling of its process plants and projects.
The advantages of utilizing Solid Edge in our drawing office to 3D model our more recent projects have been twofold, benefiting both the client and the overall project.
Some of these advantages are as follows:
- The ability to visually assess general layouts, the 3D model aides the process engineers as they have the ability through utilization of the model to see exactly where they need to place the process equipment.
- Due to the visually appealing nature of the 3D model, it acts as a great marketing tool for investors, as they can see the layout of the plant and exactly what they are investing in before ground has even been broken on site.
- The 3D model is a very useful tool regarding showing an indication of the current progress of the project at monthly board of director meetings as it can highlight and display the current phase of the project i.e.: Design stage, construction.
- Due to the layout aspect of the 3D model, it forms as a very initiative tool in respect to detecting any clashes and this will help in the minimizing of equipment clashes as well as eventual site rework
- The 3D Model certainly helps with the interface checks between the various engineering disciplines.
- Once the plant or various areas of the plant have been modeled you can obtain as drop downs of the 3D Model the following by the click of a mouse:
- General Arrangement Drawings.
- ISO’s
- Bill of Materials
- 2D – Drawings
