OVERVIEW

This was Phase 2 of Siguiri Gold Heap Leach Plant, which was sized to process 10MTPA of combined Laterite and Saprolite ore. In the first year of operation the plant broke all records and processed 12 million tones.

The Phase 2 project consisted of R.O.M tip, 3km x 1500mm wide overland conveyor system and stockpile, two stage MMD sizers, agglomeration, overland conveying, 2 x 1050mm ramp conveyors, 16 x 1050mm grasshopper conveyors, one transverse, stacker feed and self leveling 40 metre stacker stacking 12 12 metre heap height.

All infrastructure for this phase was supplied involving extra reagent store, roads, water treatment plant, detox plant, overhead powerlines and additional accommodation at the mine village.

The project was carried out in a 10 month total project duration, through the rainy season achieving completion on schedule in 1999.
