OVERVIEW

The Nkomati Mine and Process Plant was built in two phases by SENET. The first phase consisted of a small 10 tph pilot plant from run of mine ore, crushing, sizing, milling, flotation, filtration, concentrate storage and tails disposal.

This pilot plant was designed to provide detailed information from test work for future upgrades.

The results attained, relevant to the high grade Nickel and PGM recoveries, was so good that it was decided by our client to upgrade the pilot facility into a full processing plant capable of handling 30,000 tpm.

The upgrade was undertaken using as much of the existing system as possible and was completed within 12 months from capital expenditure release.

The plant was designed to operate continuously at optimum efficiency and is also designed with a high level of process control to enable limited operating manpower at all times.
