OVERVIEW

This was Phase 1 of Siguiri Gold Heap Leach Plant, which was sized to process 4MTPA of combined Laterite and Saprolite ore. In the first year of operation the plant broke all records and processed 6 million tones.

The Phase 1 project consisted of R.O.M tip, two stage crushing with MMD sizers, agglomeration, overland conveying, 2 x 900mm ramp conveyors, 16 x 90mm grasshopper conveyors, one transverse, stacker feed and self leveling 40 metre stacker stacking to 12 metre heap height. Infrastructure supplied and installed were roads, workshop, offices, stores, reagent store, 13km long raw water pipeline from Tinkisso river, security fencing, overhead powerlines and water treatment plants.

The project was carried out in a 9 month total project duration, through the rainy season achieving maximum bonus for completion 3 weeks ahead of schedule in October 1997.
