2Mtpa Gold ore with a gold feed grade of 8 g/t and silver feed grade of 32.9 g/t.
First process plant to be erected in Eritrea. Crushing and milling designed to cater for increased throughput during phases 2 and 3.
The Bisha project is situated about 150 km west of Asmara, 43 km southwest of the regional centre of Akurdat and 50 km north of Barentu, the administrative centre of the Gash-Barka District of Eritrea.
The deposit occurs within tightly folded metavolcanic and metasedimentary units and, in particular, in an interlayered volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit enriched in copper and zinc and with significant accessory gold and silver.
The Bisha Gold Process Plant (Phase I) was designed utilising proven Carbon in Leach (CIL) process technology to produce saleable gold and silver bullion from the treatment of oxides ores. This will be followed by a copper concentrator (Phase II) at the end of two years and then followed by a copper/zinc concentrator (Phase III) after a further 3 years. The gold plant was designed so that it will be easy to add on the additional equipment required for the two concentrators.
Gold Production will be 13,922kg/a and Silver Production will be 23,658kg/a.
