OUR HISTORY

SENET was established in 1989 by Jim Hollywood and Neil Senior, with an early focus on materials handling equipment turnkey supply as well as the provision of EPC/EPCM services for entire plants in the gold heap leach sector in Africa.

SENET’s first major installation in 1994, the Ayanfuri Gold Project in Ghana, is ranked as the first heap leach facility to be provided by any South African company.

The Ayanfuri Gold Project cemented SENET’s reputation on the continent as a project specialist with preferred major installer at West African mines such as Iduapriem and Teberebie (Ghana), Yatela (Mali) and Siguiri (Republic of Guinea).

In the early 2000’s, SENET’s service offering rapidly evolved to include full competencies in the provision of mineral processing plants, based on leading gold and precious metals recovery technologies such as Carbon in Leach (CIL) and Carbon in Pulp (CIP).

Key projects successfully delivered during this period, include:

Guinea

  • The three phases of the Siguiri CIL plan
  • The Lefa CIP gold plant

Mauritania

  • The first two phases of the Tasiast gold plant

Eritrea

  • The first gold project in-country, the Bisha Phase 1 project

By late 2000’s SENET’s expertise expanded beyond precious metals processing to include base metals expertise, with a particular focus on copper and cobalt processing knowledge.

SENET’s services include the capability and experience to take a process project from conceptual study, through to commissioning, providing services and deliverables including process design, test work supervision, process definition, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and process data sheets. The most recent initiatives by SENET include SENOPS, provides early stage plant operational readiness planning and SENERGY, providing electrical energy solutions, both are wholly owned subsidiaries.
