Darren holds a B-Tech Marketing Degree and an MBA (Cum Laude). He boasts over 25 years’ experience in general management and strategic marketing, working across the motor, manufacturing and construction industries. Darren previously held varying corporate and operational roles within the resources industry. Darren has 13 years of experience in the engineering, mining and metals industry and has successfully operated as a Project Manager, overseeing multidisciplinary engineering teams on projects of up to US$230 million. His strategic, marketing and commercial skills have served him well in the industry, enabling him to progress through project management, business development and commercial roles and as from 2018 he assumed the position as Managing Director of SENET.
Hugo has over 25 years’ experience in the mining and process plant sector and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical). He has specialised in gold projects in Western Africa and more recently in copper projects in Central Africa. His projects range in value, from US$15 million to US$500 million. Since 2008 Hugo has been instrumental in developing SENET’s copper project portfolio and more specifically, forged SENET’s long-standing relationship with key anchor clients. Hugo is currently the Operations Director of SENET and retains an active, hands-on Project Sponsor role.
Pieter is a Professional Engineer registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) since 1998, and he is also a member of the South African Institution of Civil Engineers (SAICE). He currently holds a dual-role as SENET’s Projects Director and Project Sponsor. He has a B.Eng. Civil Engineering degree and a B.Eng. (Hons) Civil degree from the University of Pretoria. Pieter has over 25 years’ experience in the mining sector, specialising in engineering and project management of process plants (gold, copper-cobalt, zinc, iron ore and coal) and related infrastructure. He has been involved from the study phase through to detailed design, implementation and commissioning of projects that have ranged in values from US$5 million to US$400 million.
Phil is a Metallurgical Engineer with 29 years of diversified experience in operational management and technical services of the minerals processing industry. He is the Process Director of SENET, responsible for all the aspects related to process design, including but not limited to reviewing test data and designing additional test programmes where required; developing process design criteria based on practical implementation of the test results; developing process flowsheets and piping and instrumentation diagrams; sizing process equipment and working with suppliers to select the appropriate equipment from scoping study to the detailed design and commissioning stages. Phil’s extensive background in design and commissioning of plants includes work all over Africa, Minnesota, Chile, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Spain and Sweden, with commodities such as gold, silver, copper, uranium, cobalt, coal, tantalum, vermiculite and zinc.
Marius is SENET’s Engineering Director and is accountable for all the engineering and drawing office activities. He is also the MD of SENERGY (Pty) Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of SENET specialising in the EPC delivery of renewable energy projects, predominantly in the mining sector across Africa.
SENERGY works closely with DRA Nexus in providing fully-funded energy solutions. He has a B.Eng. Electrical Engineering degree and a B.Eng. (Hons) Electrical degree from the University of Pretoria, as well as an MBL (UNISA). He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) since 1997 and a member of the South African Institution of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE). Marius has over 35 years’ experience in the mining sector, specialising in the engineering and project management of process plants, power plants and infrastructure. He has been involved in projects from study phase through to detailed design, implementation and commissioning.
Craig is SENET’s Financial Director. He holds Bachelor of Commerce and Accountancy degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1991. His industry experience includes manufacturing, engineering information technology, telecommunications and leisure services. He has worked for major a number of multinational, market-leading companies, including listed and private entrepreneurial South African companies and BEE shareholders. In addition to the full financial function, he has managed human resources, legal, commercial, governance and risk portfolios at varying times in his career. His strengths lie in collaborating with companies to improve business performance and reach growth targets while maintaining sound, financial and commercial frameworks. Craig has contributed towards the development of sustainable business models with a strong people, processes and systems approach.
